Baby Got Back…Nothing Wrong With That

A great thing about my mother is that she's just like me, we both like talk shit (in a nice way). One time my mother told me that I would make a great dancer. In my head I thought about sugarplum fairies and Russian ballets, until she said, "No, with a butt like that I mean you'd make a great video girl." Now before you start heating up that a mother would say that, keep in mind that she was joking and if I ever wanted to be a video girl she'd probably disown me, "I'm not spending all this money on school so you can shake it on film", she'd say. The reason I bring this up is because I've been told before that I have a fatty, booty, donk, what have you for a long time and trust me it gets annoying. Turns out it may not be so bad (other than the catcalls) to have a little junk in your trunk after all. According to a new study out of the University of Oxford in England,  hip and thigh fat can help to reduce the risk of diabetes and heart disease. That sounds great doesn't it? Until you think about. What type of people are known for having big butts? Black women. What type of people have the highest risk of diabetes and heart disease? Black people. I question the study, but I'll accept it as enough proof to appreciate my fatty, booty, donk, or what have you.
