It's funny how the beginning of a new year brings us an onslaught of new weight loss tricks and tools. One of the most absurd of these to me are shoes like the Sketcher's Women's Shape-ups that claim that by wearing them people can lose by wearing them. These shoes are advertised as a way to improve posture, strengthen the back, firm butt muscles, reduce cellulite, and tighten abdominal muscles. I do not think that magic shoes will ultimately result in weight loss. Sure you can buy the shoes and wear them out, but if you wear them to McDonald's or Buddy's Rib Shack they really won't do you any good. The formula for weight loss is burning more calories than you take in and of course having good discipline. Plus, the shoes are just plain ugly...don't do that to yourself. Just buy regular sneakers and take a walk around the neighborhood everyday or go to the gym, or do an exercise video.
